He’s played for Empoli, Pisa, Fiorentina and Livorno. With a stint in Siena he would have officially hit for the Tuscan Caroussel

The 6 million dollar summer signing from Valencia, via Roma, has been one of the many satisfied customers of the semi-legal Camolese miracle Drug. The Tavster has been passing, scoring and running back on defense like a kid looking to make the Varsity team. He has proven in the past that he can score goals en masse in Serie A and is going to show that again this year. Not to mention, he’s currently joint 5th best scorer in Serie A.

Let’s be honest, he’ll never be the player that brings a championship squad to that other level but he fits perectly well on this Livorno squad. He has been labelled as ”decidedly average” by Fox Sports but common! Marcelo «Pimpaliscious» Lippi took him to Germany with Bonera and Semioli to train with the soon-would-be World Champs. He’s still only 28 years old and can still upgrade his game a little, the best seems yet to come. He’s dead accurate in the box and his FIRST goal on Sunday was a beauty!

  He was never really given a chance at Valencia. He failed more because of politics than anything else, sporting director Carboni brought him in and Quique Flores, who hated Carboni, refused to make him part of his plans. It’s only logical that he was off by the time he got to Roma. He’s no world beater but he’s the type of balanced and reliable striker that any mid-tier team would want.

  Dude, I say he’s perfect at a place like Livorno where he’s the go-to guy on the attack but isn’t required to have huge expectations. I wish the guy well, but I’m not sure he’ll get his shot with a “big club” again.

  Tavano is the kind of guy that shines when you make him feel like he’s the greatest of alll time. That’s what he has in Livorno. Tavano seems to prefer being a Big fish in a small pond rather than fighting daily for a Titolare shirt…
