Livorno Vs Sampdoria, Tristan Starting !?!
By: Marco | November 24th, 2007Livorno will be looking to continue their 3 Game unbeaten streak when they host Sampdoria on Sunday. The Amaranto boys have back-to-back wins away from home and are coming off a Nil-Nil draw against Udinese at home. The Labronici will surely want to keep the momentum going and will be fighting hard to earn their first win of the season at the Picchi.
GC Camolese has been working wonders since his arrival, you can find the recipe to his miracle cure right here, but that doesn’t change the fact that Livorno have been chilling in last place all season long. There are currently 5 teams at the bottom of the table in Serie A: Livorno, Reggina, Empoli, Siena, and Cagliari. A win on Sunday will surely see them move up the table for once, instead of seeing other teams join them.
The game is at home and no notable injuries are holding Livorno down. The twin named Antonio is out for the clash and although Jose Vidigal has been looking comfortable at practices this week, he’ll be watching from the stands as well. Fausto Rossini was flu-ish this week and is likely to join Anto and Jose in the luxury box. Midfielders Nico Pulzetti, Massimo Loviso and Daniele De Vezze are all back and ready to wet their burgundy shirts while Giuliano Giannichedda should be well enough to ride the pine.
Camolese will surely push the boys to go for all 3 points on Sunday. Francesco Tavano has been on relative fire of late; ok let’s just say he’s been heating up. His strike at Siena was a surgical beauty and he’s the top scorer for the Amaranto with 4 this season. Big Bad Bogdani, who scored one for Albania this week, seems to be the favourite to partner Tavano up front, but some media outlets have been suggesting that Camolese is so happy with Diego Tristan’s new commitment to training, that he might even be tempted to start Diego, to create a TT offence. Tristan is probably going to see some meaningful pitch time against the Genovese boys on Sunday. Let’s hope for a Tristan revival, as this is one of the only players that could give Livorno that extra push to ease the way to safety.
Last 5 Games
Livorno
11/11 (Serie A): Siena-Livorno 2-3

28/10 (Serie A): Parma-Livorno 3-2
21/10 (Serie A): Livorno-Lazio 0-1
Sampdoria have 2 decisive wins in the last 2 games and will be looking to continue with that form in Livorno. Ex-Livorno boss Walter Mazzarri will be looking to tinker with his squad to fill the tight spots caused by injuries. The good/bad thing with Sampdoria is that they are a very unpredictable side. They’re able to Jekyll or Dr. Hyde it on any given Sunday. Vinny Montella and Antonio Cassano are out for this one. Gennaro Delvecchio, the talismanic Marco Materazzi head butting midfielder is out for the game as well. Fortunately for the Blucerchiati, they’ll be able to count on one, Claudio-not as sexy as Monica-Bellucci who’ll be looking to add to his goal tally. The 32-year-old striker has 4 goals so far this season.

It took me two goals and a lot of replays to realize Tavano was kissing his tattoo, and not his biceps. I suppose the former is better, depending on what it says — it’s not his frat, or something, is it?
