Livorno 1 - 4 AC Milan, Pippo Picks Up Points at The Picchi
By: Marco | April 27th, 2008
Sorry about the non-non-preview guys…
I didn’t get the chance to see the game, but I’m sure Vincent, who was at the Armando Picchi for this game, will insert some juicy tidbits in the comment thread once he sobers up from the high (or Low) of attending a game in Livorno. Aron also talked about how we got screwed on a couple of occasions by the refs.
4-1 isn’t that great but we all know that Livorno isn’t the best squad at home, especially if Marco Amelia isn’t keeping the nets. Unfortunately, Pippo managed to score a hat trick, bringing his total for the season at 9 goals, 33% of those happened this afternoon god damn it ! They beat us at home and we beat them at home. If you have told me at the beginning of the season that Livorno would take 3 points from AC Milan this year, I would have taken it right away.
We’re back at the bottom of the standings and we now get the chance to appreciate the company of Reggina and Parma in the bottom 3.
We gotta give it our all in the last 3 games, Salvation is still a mathematical probability
Lowlights
1-0
2-0
3-0
4-0
4-1

By “today could not have gone worse” I meant that Livorno lost, everyone else at the bottom won which left us alone at the bottom *AND* my girlfriend did a number on my iron pan.
Anyway I should have been there but I don’t really know anyone that goes to the games. I should’ve tried to hook up with Vincent!
I wonder if anyone goes to watch away games somewhere like London Pub? Does anyone know?

Also I should point out that as far as being screwed by the refs we certainly were but the calls were still close enough that the linemen don’t need to fear for their personal safety.
The first goal was definitely offside but just by a bit. Tavano however timed his run perfectly and it was really depressing to see the flag go up.
Oh yes, and goaltending was horrendous today. To be honest I stopped watching after it went 3-0. I saw the last goals as highlights only.

Soon as you heard the Amaranto faithful chanting “Inzaghi pezzo de merda” you knew he would bite back.Livorno were awful.Even the Ultras were out of the ground at 0-4.Many stayed however and it was heartwarming to hear them still getting behind their team till the final whistle. As for myself,Iwas made very welcome by total strangers who made room for me at the back of the Curva Nord, great view.It was only 11 Euros in. Post match was spent drinking ice cold Mr.Moretti’s by the sea on Livorno’s promenade(cheers Marco)finishing off with several Livorno Ponce(rum, coffee, lemon)before leaving.A great day but the game best forgotten.
