Livorno Host Peruzziless Team From Some City Called Rome
By: Marco Stucazzo | October 20th, 2007
THE POLITICAL DERBY
( that’s what i’m calling it as of now)
The fans will be primordial for this encounter. The heated atmosphere and the old rivalry between the 2 fan bases should be more than enough to get the Livorno faithful in a massive choreographed frenzy in the stands. With a little coordination and some clever song choices the Livorno fans might even be able to bring back Antonio Gramsci from the dead
…or just be able to get in Pandev,Rocchi and co’s (That would be an excellent name for a law firm) heads enough that we can win.
i’m psyched about this game. There’s just that inexplicable something about Lazio i love to hate and despise.
The fact that I’m a big Livorno and AS Roma fan has nothing to do with it it tell ya’!
The predicted 3-5-2 line-up should be :
1 Amelia
77 Grandoni
6 Galante
15 Knezevic
17 Alvarez
16 Giannichedda
21 Loviso
7 Pulzetti
26 Pasquale
10 Tavano
81 Bogdani
Bench/panchina:
18 De Lucia
32 Pavan
24 Dhorasoo
3 E. Filippini
11 De Vezze
23 Diamanti
20 Rossini
De Vezze,Rossini and Diamanti are all capable subs and the young Pulzetti is one of the only bright things coming out of Livorno’s disapointing start to the season. If we can end the season like we started last year, it would be fine with me.
Lazio’s peruzzilessness will be their achillies tendon all year, unless Carizzo comes in January and is nothing like Muslera. The young Uruguaian doesn’t seem to be working out yet and Ballotta is great for a grandfather but i’m pretty sure he thinks that he’s playing charity games for the Lazio old-timers team. On the other hand, Lazio has some great youngsters with Mundigayi,Behrami,De Silvestri and Kolarov.
The thing that scares me about Lazio is that they just got humiliated at home by Milan and they won’t want to lose to a team in last place. The squad should be highly motivated to do well and the fans can’t wait to shout obscenities to the Livornese crowd.
I’m predicting a draw because it’s a home game and this is our record against Lazio when they come to town. We’ve been able to draw Inter, why not Lazio.
Livorno have a great home record against the second team of Rome.
Competizioni Played Win Draw Loss GA GF
Campionato 19 11 5 3 28 15
11 wins in 19 games. That’s a great record for the amaranti. I remember when we kicked their asses 4-1, and that Lazio goal was on a dubbious penalty call that gave Guarisi the only Lazio goal in 1934. And i’m pretty sure that was the event that pissed off Mussolini so much he decided to invade Ethiopia one year later.
Forza Ragazzi!
Livornese National anthem

I’ve liked Diamanti so far this season. A little frail but very technical.

Your images are making my OCD go bonkers, man. Go into the code and delete the messed up one after you upload it right, so the box with the title in it isn’t there anymore. You know? Whew.
Regarding actual football: Dhorasoo’s actually fit enough to make the bench? Seriously? I can’t get my mind around that.

As a left wing extremist there is really only one team I can support in this game.

I think Lazio’s achilles tendon is that they’re Lazio, but that’s just me.
How’s old boy Tavano doing? Still being “decidedly average”?

Chris, Tavano can’t score against a team down to 10 men with the likes of S.Siviglia on Defence.
Empoli must be laughing their asses of seeing they got around 10M$ fancy spanish Euros for him.

I remember Tavano’s little adventure of doing nothing at Valencia, that guy gets around for someone so overwhelmingly average.
But he’s better than their replacement Arizmeni. And probably Diego Tristán, who would still be quality if he understood the concept of training.

Nice work Marco. But the way things are going for Livorno right now, I doubt we’ll see this blog next year. 0-1 at home to Lazio Merda today, and another chance of a point goes begging.
And I’m Indian,so I would really like to see Vikash’s Vikash at Livorno.(Vikash in Hindi means progress

Thanks Kshitiz,
Vikash’s progress is something all Livorno fans can wait to see.
Nolan you’re right. What Livorno need is a Life Coach/Personnal trainer for V-Money and Diego Tristan. Then maybe we can start climbing out od the relegation zone.Livorno does have a string of ”easier” matches coming up, let’s see what happens then.
