Livorno-Udinese 0-0; Highlights And The Backstreet Boys

*Got your Highlights at the bottom of the post
Livorno get one point on Sunday after a hard fought draw with Udinese. Marco Amelia played a great game, getting the better of 2 one-on-ones in the second half to get his first clean sheet of the campaign. Oddly enough, Livorno was the team with the best chances to take all 3 points today. Livorno came in firing in the second half but Handowdonovevic was great. Ale Diamanti had some great chances and Martin Bergvold almost made it 1-Nil seconds before the break. Official recap right here
I tought Livorno would crowd the midfield like the Greek NT but they didn’t!.Pasquale and Balleri were running up and down the flanks all game. Even the Filippini twins managed an adequate game. One of them (i’m sorry but i can’t really tell them apart) even did almost enough to get a penalty, but referee Brighi said nice try Mary-Kate.
The defence was solid throughout the game. Almost all of the Friuliani’s best occasions to score came on the counter.Amelia had to save the teams ass a couple times (but that’s what’s asked of seeing as he’s a World Champion and all), but Livorno’s Defence held the fort nicely all game against Udinese’s 3 prong attack and would have made Trotsky proud.
Giancarlo Camolese seems to have turned Livorno’s luck around. He’s getting this squad to fight hard for every ball and even tried going for the win in the last 20 minutes of the contest. He’s ballsy
Livorno were without the suspended Massimo Loviso and D. De Vezze. Nico Pulzetti, Giuliano Giannnnicheddda and Jose Vidigal we’re all missing but there was a Diego Tristan spotting on the Amaranto bench. Francesco Tavano picked up an injury in the warm up and was replaced by Diamanti who had a stellar game. So 1 point taken from Udinese is more than acceptable.
Reggina and Siena tied. We’re still co-crappiest with Reggina at 6 points but , hey, we picked up a point against Udinese, not to shabby. Livorno is looking better every game. Giancarlo Camolese said after the game that Tavano’s injury wasn’t that serious but he didn’t want to risk anything as he is fully confident Alè Diamanti can get the job done. Tavano should be back on Sunday, as well as Nico Pulzetti . Seemingly,Johnny Camels will be able to count on the fully fit/soon to be recuperated Giuliano Giannichedda and Diego Tristan after the International break.
Livorno will look to extend their unbeaten streak,(that’s right I can now associate Unbeaten and Livorno somehow ) to three matches when they face 15th-placed Siena Sunday

Arbitro: Brighi di Cesena
3 stars:
Ale Diamanti: Filled in well after being called upon at the last minute to replace Tavano and probably had the best chances to give Livorno the go ahead. No wonder he’s drawing interest form bigger clubs Vote 6.5

Bergvold: Getting better every game. Almost scored at the end of the 1st half. He’s becoming an important part of the midfield with his strike just missing the inside of the left post.. I think he has shown Camolese enough so that he can get a regular spot as a titolare in the labronici’s midfield. Livorno can use a young player with international and Champions League experience. Except for Diego Tristan, i don’t think any Amaranto can boast that he has been on the same picth as Manchester’s United Vote 6,89
Balleri: This guy is amazing, held his own against Toto Christmas all afternoon. He even made a couple of nice runs up the flank, all that 38 years old, he’s officially ready for a move to AC Milan. Vote 7
Here are your highlights, brought to you by Jester. He’s the quickest on the web for Livorno videos but he has an obsession with editing all his videos and putting an awesome Backstreet Boys song every time. Enjoy!

Great win for the boys! Nice write up as well, very neutral. Hopefully they can get out of the relegation zone and back to the midtable, where they deservedly belong.

I cant wait until Amelia goes to Palermo in January

Why?
Fontana is doing a great job at a fraction of the price…

Fontana’s not getting any younger, and i can’t see him going Ballotta-style. Agliardi just sucks donkeyballs, so Amelia would be welcome. And let’s not forget that he is one awesome keeper. I love the man.

I just can’t see it happening in January, unless Livorno is mathematically out of Serie A by December.
On the bright side, Amelia is already used to working with crazy ass presidents, so he’ll be perfect
I think the real question is if Amelia is going to take that Premiership money or stay in Italy. These rumours of Amelia to Palermo have been going around for about 2 years and half now…
