Livorno-Udinese Preview, Plus Bobo And V-Ka$h
By: Marco Stucazzo | November 3rd, 2007
Livorno hosts an on-fire Udinese squad on Sunday. The Labronici are coming away from there first win of the season and now get to share the bottom of the table. Not only did Livorno win convincingly, they also managed to convince Reggina President Lilo Foti that the only way for his team to fight off relegation this year was to hire a communist coach, Renzo ‘’ I ain’t Harry Potter’’ Ulivieri.
Winning and converting, now that’s what Livorno is all about.
No new news on the V-Ka$h Dhorasoo a.k.a the Great Brown Hope, situation, other that he won’t be playing (fuckin’ duh!) and has yet to discuss his Livornese ‘’future ‘’ with Aldo Spinelli.
“We signed Dhorasoo even though he wasn’t in the best condition and the Coach didn’t think that he was ready for the first team,” Livorno President Aldo Spinelli explained.
“He asked him to play for the youth team as that would have been a good indicator, but the player refused to accept that decision.
Contrary to whatever Channel4.com is saying it’s not official yet, Spinelli hasn’t decided if he’ll burn his contract rip it up or just taking time to work on his french/québécois so he can tell him ; ‘’ Vikash, tu suces calisse! T’es viré mon tabarnak!’’
This is getting annoying; maybe the fact that a team like LIVORNO isn’t convinced of your fitness level or your will to play, would give you that kick in the ass so you start working hard and wanting to prove your critics wrong.
I can’t believe a player that hasn’t played a single competitive minute in the last year is too arrogant to swallow his pride and make a little sacrifice so he can get some pitch time in one of the best leagues in the world. V-ka$h welcome to the end of your career or as I like to call it: Qatar…
Speaking of over-hyped geezers, Bobo Vieri was on the Livorno radar this summer. Aldo Spinelli confirmed that he did everything he could to sign Christian to replace Cristiano during the Summer transfer window but couldn’t compete with Fiorentina’s project of wanting to be competitive. A Bobo-Tavano partnership (strikership?) would have been great to be able to pronounce so many O’s…
Preview:
Livorno comes back to the Armando Picchi on Sunday with 3 points conquered during mid-week.
Pasquale Marino is working out great for Udinese this term. His squad sits at 18 points in the top half of the table. Gyan Asamoah, Giampiero Pinzi ,Damiano Ferronetti and Cristian Zapata are out with injuries, C. Obodo is highly doubtful and Andrea Dossena is suspended for the game.
The 3 headed monsters that is Fab Quagliarella-Toto Natale - Floro Flores will be giving Livorno’s back line headaches all afternoon. Fortunately, none of the 3 is a real legitimate aerial threat; witch has been Livorno’s biggest problem this year. The Labronici will have to be tremendously attentive to the Udinese counter-attack and be able to clear all the dangerous balls in their 18 yard box. We’ll see a packed midfield and I get the feeling Super 69 Balleri will be extremely cautious on the defensive end and camp out in the defensive half all game.
The Amaranto will welcome back Alessandro Diamante who stayed home for the Reggina win . Loviso and De Vezze are suspended for the encounter and Giannnnicheddda, Jose Vidigal and Nico Pulzetti are 99% sure to be watching from the rehab room not the same one you think of when you think Amy Winehouse
Livorno needs to not have this kind of performance
If the Labronici can pack the middle, play great defence and get 1 or 2 goals of a lucky break or a nice counter attack, they can come out of this game with at least a draw, but let’s just say Udinese isn’t exactly Reggina quality. The a little part of the Udine region has a tendency to agree with the ass wipethat is Umberto Bossi and his Lega Nord (cough…fascit pigs…cough) Seeing how Livorno is a little left-wing and all maybe that can give the squad a little extra moral boost …
Prediction:
Draw 2-2, I get the feeling the high the players got from winning on lo stretto should be able to give them enough character to be able to tie the Northerners.
Last time these two met at the Picchi, Livorno came out with 3 points, seeing that this Udinese squad is almost the same as last year (minus Muntari and Iaquinta but plus Fab Quags and Inler)
Probable starting XI:
Livorno: 3-5-2 (more like a 5-3-2)
Amelia
Grandoni, Pavan, Galante;
Pasquale ,E Filippini, M. Bergvold, A Filippini,Balleri
Tavano, Bogdani
Coach : Giancarlo Camolese
Udinese 4-3-3
Handanovic; Zapotocny, Felipe, Coda; Mesto, D’Agostino, Inler, Lukovic; Quagliarella, Floro Flores, Di Natale
Game time : 9am EST, 3 pm Italian Time

I don’t think I’ve ever eaten that in my life. I would probably be disowned by my family.

Uh-oh. You used the “overhyped geezers” and “Bobo Vieri” in close proximity.
Martha will soon be arriving to relieve you of body parts.

I, of course, meant “the words overhyped geezers” etc.

Laurie : i just couldn’t resist…
I’m willing to accept the dire consequences of Martha’s wrath but i do stand by my statements that include the words ”overhyped geezers” and ”Christian Vieri”

Did somebody say Bobo?

Such dirty, dirty pool, Marco, getting me here with that headline and the just INSULTING him.
No, actually, you can call him over-hyped as much as you want — he’ll just keep getting less fat, and keep serenely banging in goals for Fiorentina. (I would say something nasty about how Livorno could use those goals, but I won’t because I’m actually very sympathetic to your poor team. I really am. What do you think are the odds of survival?)

Martha: Im would never dare to insult Bobo (unless geezer is officially an insult, then i apologize )
Being an Azzurri fan and all i love Bobo(i would have loved to have him on that WC2006 squad instead of Pippo), but the man is overhyped. He’s like crack for the Italian media
I would have loved to have Bobo gracing the Livorno shirt and bagging goals galore instead of settling for whatever Diego Tristan is doing in Livorno…
as for the odds of beating relegation, a lot of it depends on how they fare injury wise and in the winter transfer window.
If i was a betting man i would have to say slim to none, as a fan, Livorno have always been a pleasant surprise recently. It’ll be a bitter find ’till the last day of the season

Martha, please do not use the words “Vieri” and “banging” in the same comment. My heart can’t take it. Thank you.

the words ”Vieri” ”banging” ”old geezers” and ”galore”
are just creating a nasty mental picture…BTW being a Livorno fan is a lot like being an Expos fan, because you know they’ll eventually disappear

I’m siding with Marco here, I love me some Bobo (love overhyped geezers more), but 3 in 10 isn’t exactly enough to strike fear in anybody.
Marco, despite siding with you here, I’m boycotting your column until you promise not to post any more Amy Winehouse videos.

Actually, I only love the ridiculous fodder Bobo provides, would he be relatively normal, I’d hate his guts. But you get it.
Alright, I’m leaving now. (And going to every CD store in the Boston area and burning all the Amy Winehouse CDs)

I can promise no more Amy Winehouse videos
but if she blows chunks during her next live performance all be all over that story like you on a ALberto-Aquilani-kills-David-Pizzaro-with-a-spoon storyPosted from

…Wow! Diego Tristan made the bench today
i guess he just needs 1 game with the primavera side and he could come back…

Since Livorno is a famous port city, I think Diego Tristan goes fishing during the week and then makes paella.

that makes a lot of sense Francè…
BUt your team could have spanked Siena, We needed them to lose…

Sorry. Blame Galloppa. What business did he have trying to score in the 90th minute?
