Giancarlo Camolese a.k.a. Johnny Camels seems to have injected a great deal of enthusiasm to the Labronici. Since his appointment 4 games ago the Amaranto have racked up 3 points away to Reggina and took a point from Udinese at home, a game where a both sides could have taken the 3 points. He has solidified the defence, I mean Grandoni and Knezevic have been playing well, but his best move remains not playing Rezaei. He tried that at against Lazio and it’s good to know that Camolese appears to learn quickly from his mistakes. Livorno still remains at the bottom of the table, but now they have company. Another Tuscan Derby awaits Livorno this Sunday when they face Siena. This game is a great opportunity to take 3 points against a fellow relegation battler.

Let’s take a look at the table
10. Catania 14
11. Genoa 14
12. Sampdoria 14
13. Torino 12
14. Parma 11
15. Lazio 10
16. Siena 9
17. Cagliari 9
18. Empoli 9
19. Livorno 6
20. Reggina 6

The physical condition of the squad is improving with every game; even Davide Balleri looks 25 years old out there. He had a masterful game Sunday against Udinese, so much so, that this week he claimed that he wanted to play until he was 40 years old. He says that if Livorno beat the drop this year he’ll seriously consider not hanging up his boots. If the Amaranto go down with the cadetti for 2008/2009 I’m pretty sure that Balleri could get a job at ACMilan. This being the Amaranto, you can’t count them out until the bitter end. We can expect some surprising stuff from Aldo Spinelli who’s only serious competitor for the title of best Crazy owner is Maurizio Zamparini, with an honorable mention going out to Luciano Gaucci

Tidbits

Rumours have it that Livorno are considering purchasing old Perugia semi-star Ze Maria. The blond haired brazilian soon-to-be-geezer is without team and training on his own. It’s not like Livorno’s depth is their strong point and they can use some more bodies on the bench. Ze Maria was a capable Left and Right Back in his Perugia days. If he comes cheap, why not?

There’s also voices suggesting that V. Kutuzov is a January Target for Livorno. If we are to poach a forward from arch-rival Pisa, we might as well look at the Roma bred Alessio Cerci who has taken Serie B by storm this year.

V-ka$h cameo over:

The weird Vikash Dhorasoo to Livorno story is officially over. Livorno and Dhorasoo have parted ways. I don’t really have anything to say about this, except who cares?
It’s not as if anybody expected Vika$h to be professional or anything. Who would of thought Domenech was right about something?
The good thing about this is that it’ll give Martin Bergvold even more pitch time. He’s been playing well, and he’s contributing exactly what was expected of Dhorasoo. The upside is that he’s young, talented and serious, an all around professional. Ciao Ciao Vika$h…

Edgar Alvarez:

He’s fast, goddamn he’s fast, but he can’t do anything with the ball. He’s frustrating because he’s amazing off the ball and his blazing speed can stretch defences. He always finds open space and then screws up the play, misses a cross or runs passed the base line with the ball. He’s like a hot blind girl, with no Vagina… Alvarez needs to work on the basics everyday; first touches, crosses, shots, not falling down, that kind of stuff

Diego Tristan-it is:

Rumours have been floating around that Diego Tristan might be inspired by Vikash Dhorasoo to rescind his contract. The news came from El Confidencial a Spanish media outlet. Diego Tristan and Aldo Spinelli have denied the rumours. Tristan declared that he had never spoken to El Confidencial and has re-affirmed his desire of seeing out his contract and maybe playing a little during that time. The name Diego Tristan is kind of mouth watering to a Livorno supporter. He’s certainly not the player he once was, but even he can do 20% percent of what he once did at Deportivo, the Labronici would be extremely pleased, as long as GC Camolese doesn’t send him for week end getaway with the Primavera side…

A little bit of Diego Tristan nostalgia:

*a preview of the 420th Tuscan derby will soon follow

Edgar! So, think you can get Aldo to offer enough tanning sessions to make the stay permanent at the end of the year? That’d be peaches.

And make sure to tell them not to start making a mad dash for safety until after they play Roma in December. This team just seems to have one of those “What the fuck just happened?” streaks in them.

I don’t see Edgar staying in Livorno. He’s adequate, sans plus… i just don’t see Spinelli coughing up some semi-serious coin to keep him. Anyways if Alvarez gets injured Roma will surely need him back.

I can sense that streak coming and i totally can see Livorno drawing Roma, Ascoli style baby.

Plus Amelia loves reminding Roma that they used to own him…
