Spinelli Mad, Cuts Allowance

Livorno lost to a team that recently tied Real Madrid (said in that matter, the defeat seems less bitter) unfortunately, that squad is Lazio. To add insult to injury, Lazio didn’t play like a champions league squad, they played like, uhh, Lazio.

The Sunday defeat to Lazio at home didn’t sit well with the Livorno owner. Old man Aldo Spinelli would need a spinello right about now.

He lashed out against the Team and particularly against Rezaei. Spinelli blamed Camolese for not playing Pavan , claiming (and,rightfully so) that the Persian stopper’s( Ha!) shortcomings cost Livorno points the last 4 games. So he basically decided that the players weren’t earning their money so he’ll start paying them when they start winning. Let’s hope that comes sooner than later. And what better place to start the 2007/2008 Livorno Revolution than with struggling Parma.

Spinelli couldn’t fire Camolese right away so he decided to sack the the Athletic preparator Giampiero Veltrone instead. Livorno does seem a little tired and is always second on the ball. When you’re second on the ball you have a problem, when you’re a team like Livorno and your always second on the ball, you’re fuckin’ screwed! Vikash V-Money Dhorasoo hasn’t seen any pitch time yet and Diego Tristan is still not match fit, what the hell is gong on!?! This sacking can’t make things any worse than they are. Giancarlo Camolese a.k.a Johnny Camels mentioned physical preparation as one of the main problems of this squad. A fresh start training wise might help Livorno out of the bottom of the table.

Vikash Dhorasoo was pissed about not playing on Sunday. News reports suggest that he’s considering rescinding his contract and go back to France, just in time for Grape picking season where you can make up to 450 Euros a week. He’s strongly considering it but he finally left for the Ritiro with the rest of the squad. I think that Camolese didn’t want to take the chance with the newly ‘’ fit’’ Indo-Mauritian Frenchman. The game was lost so why not rest the midfielder for the string of matches with direct relegation contenders in the near future. Vikash must be wondering; ‘’ if I can’t even make it as a sub on this Livorno squad, what the hell am I good for?’’

Sunday’s Not to Shabby/Shabby :

Amelia: Only bright spot on the squad. He was faultless on the goal, even tough you get the feeling that Gigi Buffon would have saved that goal. He was solid after that and made one or two spectacular saves. If not for him, the result would have been worse. 7

Tavano: What happened to the guy that played for Empoli. In less than 1 year and half he can go from a player on the fringe of the Marcello Lippi Italia squad and then look like this ? I can understand that the Amaranto faithful think it’sa disgrace that he gets to wear the #10 jersey that belongs to Igor Protti. 4

Loviso and Pulzetti: Only guys on the field that seemed to know there was a football match going on at the Picchi. They played solidly ‘’sans plus’’ but compared to the rest of the squad, they seemed spectacular. 6

Rezaei: The Goal was in large part his fault. I think his only attribute is that he makes Pavan look good. He was atrocious Sunday even these guys seem to disagree. How do you say sub-par with a dash of crappyness in Persian?

Livorno has way more than ‘’cento passi ‘’ to do before they get out of the relegation zone…
