Livorno – Genoa Preview, while Livorno and Marco Amelia Go On Sale
By: Marco Stucazzo | February 8th, 2008Livorno – Genoa
As I’ve said in the past (I have like a Month on the Italian National Media) Aldo Spinelli has put up the team for sale. Rumours have it that Mr. Spinelli wants to take over for his pal Ruggeri at Atalanta, after the President suffered a horrendous heart attack last month.
Minchia Aldo! You said the reason of your departures is because your tired of Calcio altogether!? (Serves me right for believing the King of Bullshit) The Livorno Website has now officially excluded the Atalanta link but has also officially hung a For Sale Sign outside the Armando Picchi.
A group of Businessmen has been asking around about that sig. Aldo Spinelli wants a firm 30M$. The group looks serious about their bid, seeing how they want to meet with the Livorno sindaco soon. Meanwhile, Livorno Sindaco and Spinelli are scheduled to hold a meeting next week.
The group led by Maurizio Berrighi, some guy in ‘’construction’’, (someone tell me if you know anything about this guy, he’s ungooglable!) have seemingly already offered Aldo Spinelli a half-decent offer of 20M$ for the Leghorn outfit and supposedly preparing some Big plans for our favourite Tuscan Club’s future.
Good, fuck it; Excellent news is that the consortium contains Marchese Piero Antinori of Antinori wines as well as Leonardo Ferragamo leader of a fashion industry conglomerate. There’s now doubt a Marquis and fashionista should bring some class to the organization. Forbes says that the Ferragamo Company is worth approximately 1.2 BN.
These guys have already wined and dined Igor Protti. They started buying him jewellery and promising all kinds of Commitments. Watch out Igor, businessmen will break your heart. Let’s hope this is for real.
On to the Game, now
Livorno
Livorno’s hosting Genoa on Sunday and will be looking top break that 2 game losing streak. The game Genoa is the perfect chance to get 3 points before The Amaranto Liberation Army will be playing both teams from Milan soon.
GC Camolese finished the Palermo game with a 4-4-2 formation. Edgar Alvarez came in for Balleri and Pasquale slotted back to the left side of the Defence. But it’s unlikely we get to see that or the 4-3-1-2 with Diamanti as the 1. I’d rather start off with the reliable 5-3-2 and then change it up accordingly to how the game unfolds. GC Camolese isn’t Luciano Spalletti, he knows how to do that!
Livorno is holding on to the 15th spot and we need at least 3 points from the next 3 games, MINIMUM! Genoa, Get ready to fear Livorno’s wrath!
Uh, Marco Borriello, A. Lucarelli play there and for some reason they play Robinho in net. That’s all of my Genoa knowledge for you, right there folks. I’m more of a Sampdoria man myself anyways. I’d love to be able to say go and check out the Genoa page for all the info but I can’t. Genoa have a decent standing in the table with the 10th spot, pretty good for a team that was in Serie B at this time last year. That’s why they won’t mind the Labronici relieving them of their dignity on Sunday.
Likely Formations:
Genoa
Rubinho
Konko, Bovo, Santo, Criscito
Danillo, Juric, Paro, Rossi,
Borriello, Figueroa
Livorno
Marco Amelia
Grandoni-Knezevic-Galante
Balleri-Pulzetti-DDV-Vailatti-Pasquale
Diego Trista and Ciccio Tavano
GC Camolese will be bringing Diego Tristan back to the Starting XI; The Bogdani experience didn’t give that good of a result and Bogdani is better at subbing in than Tristan. Tavano will likely want to round up his goal tally and bring it to 10. Tavano was pissed on (by me) for missing that Palermo Penalty, so he better redeem himself on Sunday. By my calculations the Tavster will be playing wonderfully on Sunday, 1 game out of 3 he’s fantastic and he’s been sucking for the past 2 games. Now’s the time Francesco!
The Midfield gets to welcome back Daniele DDV De Vezze from his suspension but Martin Bergvold and Giuliano Giannichedda are still out for at least 1 month. DDV and Bergvold have been the only players linking the Midfield to the Offense all year. Nico Pulzetti tries his best; unfortunately he’s still adapting to Serie A life. There’s been some talk of seeing Tommaso Vailatti’s presence on the pitch at Kick-off, so he’ll probably get some time on the field. I can’t wait to see what the kid can do.
At least we get to see a healthy reunited Galante-Knezevic-Grandoni, Knezevic is back from his 20 minutes of pitch time with Croatia. Our best 3 man defence will be roaming free in front of Marco-I’m getting paid this summer fuckers- Amelia. Our best player was stellar with the Azzurri. Even if he was mildly tested, he stuffed all the C. Ronaldo swerves and Portuguese attacks in a perfect performance. Not even GiGi Buffon would have stopped that Ricardo- Q-Cheezy- Quaresma goal. Aldo must be ecstatic at how Amelia’s stock rose exponentially after only 90 minutes on Wednesday night Football!
Marco now wants to play for the big boys, but only AFTER leading Livorno to Salvation once again.
This is what happened last time:
Ozzie ! NO MOYE TEAYS!
===================================================================
Prediction
3-0. Marco Amelia deserves a clean sheet and I think Tristan is due for a brace; Daniele De Vezze will get the other one.
Forza Ragazzi !
