The Amaranto Liberation Army picks up a point from their free bonus game in Milan.
After Inter and Roma, Milan now had the chance to witness the drawing powers of GC Camolese’s Livorno squad. Unfortunately, Juventus are the only ‘’Big’’ (that B is capitalised because of… well you know) team that managed to pick up 6 points against Livorno this year.
Nico Pulzetti’s 50th minute strike was enough to earn 1 point in Milan. Marco Amelia had a spectacular game, and the only shot he couldn’t block was Andrea Pirlo’s rigore. Grande Marco! Amelia always performs great against the Big Boys.
I was expecting nothing from this game but, I think AC Milan underestimated the sturdiness of Livorno’s 15-man defensive wall. AC Milan started the game with a GIlardino/Paloschi strike partnership with Yohann Gourcuff doing the best he can while filling KaKa’s very big shoes. The attack of the European powerhouse couldn’t manage 2 goals in this encounter and they remain in 5th place just on la Viola’s tail.
That point picked up in Milan means Livorno moves up in the table, now officially tied with Lazio and Catania with 23 points so far. Tavano had to leave the game early on because of muscle prblems, should be back in a week or so. Anyways, it gave us the chance to witness Alè Diamanti’s skills and his Alessio Cerci-esque haircut.
It amuses me that Milan has no problem fending off the attacks of Manchester United, breaking down the defensive wall of Liverpool or winning the Club Championship Cup in Japan, but Serie A is a whole other story. That’s why I love Calcio !
